The owners and occupants of all lots or parts of lots or tracts in this city are required to number the buildings thereon in accordance with the following method:

(a)   On all streets extending east and west the buildings shall be numbered from Center Avenue commencing with the number one hundred, and each successive block east and west with one additional hundred, to the eastern and western limits of the street; the streets extending east and west, east of Center Avenue to be prefixed with the word “East,” and those west of Center Avenue with the word “West.” The even numbers shall be placed on the north side of each street and the odd numbers on the south side, to be so arranged that the numbers in each and all blocks lying between the same streets extending north and south correspond and are the same. The numbering shall be on the basis of one number to each twenty-five feet of frontage, or fractional part thereof; however, where two buildings are located on the same twenty-five feet of frontage, the second building shall be given the same number as the first with the number one-half added.

(b)   On all streets extending north and south the buildings shall be numbered from Front Street, commencing with the number one hundred, and each successive block north with one additional hundred to the northern limit of said street. The even numbers shall be placed on the east side of each street and the odd numbers on the west side, to be so arranged that the numbers in each and all blocks lying between the same streets running east and west correspond and are the same . The numbering shall be on the basis of one number to each twenty-five feet of frontage, or fractional part thereof; however, where two buildings are located on the same twenty-five feet of frontage, the second building shall be given the same number as the first with the number one-half added.

The numbers on any building shall be placed on the front of the building, door, post, transom or other place in such a manner that they may easily be seen from the street. They shall be at least three inches high.

In case of doubt, or when a question arises as to the proper number to be assigned to any lot or building, the city clerk shall decide the question and fix the number of such lot or building.

All owners and occupants of buildings in this city are required to number, or cause to be numbered, the buildings owned or occupied by them according to the provisions of this chapter within thirty days after it becomes effective. All owners or occupants of buildings hereafter erected along any of the streets of this city shall cause said buildings to be numbered, as provided in this chapter, within thirty days after completion.

The even numbers shall be placed on the east side of each street and the odd numbers on the west side, to be so arranged that the numbers in each and all blocks lying between the same streets running east and west correspond and are the same. The numbering shall be on the basis of one number to each lot, however, where two buildings are located on the same twenty-five feet of frontage, the second building shall be given the same number as the first with the number one-half added.

All owners and occupants of buildings in this subdivision are required to number, or cause to be numbered, the buildings owned or occupied by them according to the provisions of Sections 13-505:507 within thirty days after January 14, 1954. All owners or occupants of buildings hereafter erected along any of the streets of this Subdivision shall cause said buildings to be numbered, as herein provided, within thirty days after completion.
