National Fire Codes, 1983, compiled by the National Fire Protection Association, Batterymarch Park, Quincy, MA 02269, is adopted by reference thereto as authorized by Sections 12-3009 to 12-3012, both inclusive, of the Kansas Statutes Annotated, as the fire code of the city.

Any person, firm or corporation who violates any part of the provisions of this chapter or of the fire code adopted by reference herein or who violates or fails to comply with any order made under said code or who builds in violation of any detailed statement of specifications or plans submitted and approved thereunder or of any certificate or permit issued thereunder, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be fined not less than one dollar nor more than one hundred dollars. The imposition of one penalty for any violation hereunder shall not excuse the violation or permit it to continue; and all such persons, firms, and corporations shall be required to correct or remedy such violations or defects within a reasonable time and when not otherwise specified, each ten-day period that prohibited conditions are maintained shall constitute a separate offense. The application of any penalty provided for in this section shall not be held to prevent the enforced removal of prohibited conditions.
