A sewer use fee shall be paid by the users of the sewer system to the city of Oakley, Kansas.

Users of the sewer system of the city shall be classified as residential or commercial.
(a) Residential property shall include all forms of residences, apartment buildings, mobile homes, and residential property units divided into apartment dwellings.
(b) Commercial shall include governmental buildings, schools, rest homes, hospitals, hotels, motels, and any other property which the principle purpose shall be for the sale of goods, services, accommodations, or any other income-producing services.

The monthly sewerage rates to be charged and collected for the use of the services rendered by the sanitary sewer system of the City, and to all customers or users of said sewerage system whose premises are connected or may be hereafter connected directly or indirectly to the City’s sanitary sewerage system, shall be as follows:
(a) Residential Property Units. For each residence, home, mobile home or other residential dwelling unit sewerage charges shall be $23.00 per month.
(b) Commercial and Industrial. The sewer use fee for commercial and industrial property shall be $27.00 per month for the metered use of five thousand (5,000) gallons of water or less per month; $2.00 per one thousand (1,000) gallons of water per month for the metered use of the next ten thousand (10,000) gallons of water and an additional $1.10 per one thousand (1,000) gallons of water for the metered use of more than fifteen thousand (15,000) gallons of water per month.

The foregoing charges shall be payable upon bills rendered each month by the city clerk in accordance with the rules and regulations therefore as provided by ordinance.
