ARTICLE 7. WATER SERVICE CHARGES

15-701. Minimum charge.

The following minimum service charges shall be made for water service furnished by the City of Oakley, Kansas:

(a) The minimum charge per meter for those service connections within the city limits of the City of Oakley will be:

(1) $22.80 per month in 2020

(2) $29.80 per month in 2021

(3) $36.80 per month in 2022

(b) The minimum charge per meter for those connections outside of the city limits of the City of Oakley will be:

(1) $30.70 per month in 2020

(2) $37.70 per month in 2021

(3) $44.70 per month in 2022

(c) A Water Meter Replacement Fee shall be applied each month for each meter. The amount of this fee shall depend on the size of the customer’s meter. This fee shall be as follows:

(1).. ¾ “ meter......... $1.16 per month

(2).. 1” meter........... $1.59 per month

(3).. 1 ½” meter....... $5.45 per month

(4).. 2” meter........... $8.11 per month

(5).. 2” T meter....... $8.44 per month

(6).. 2” C meter..... $16.03 per month

(7).. 3” C meter..... $20.53 per month

(8).. 4” C meter..... $32.23 per month

(9).. 6” C meter..... $66.65 per month

15-702. Water rates.

The following charges shall be made for water service sold and furnished by the City of Oakley, Kansas:

(a) USE WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS:

(1) First three thousand (3,000) gallons per month is included in the minimum charge.

(2) Next twenty-seven thousand (27,000) gallons per month, a charge of $1.60 per 1,000 gallons.

(3) Next forty-five thousand (45,000) per gallons per month, a charge of $2.14 per 1,000 gallons.

(4) Next one hundred seventy-five thousand (175,000) gallons per month, a charge of $2.49 per 1,000 gallons.

(5) Next two hundred fifty thousand (250,000) gallons per months, a charge of $2.74 per 1,000 gallons.

(6) Next two hundred fifty thousand (250,000) gallons per month, a charge of $3.30 per 1,000 gallons.

(7) For all over sever hundred fifty thousand (750,000) gallons per month, a charge of $4.16 per 1,000 gallons.

(b) USE OUTSIDE THE CITY LIMITS:

(1) First three thousand (3,000) gallons per month is included in the minimum charge.

(2) Next twenty-seven thousand (27,000) gallons per month, a charge of $2.40 per 1,000 gallons.

(3) Next forty-five thousand (45,000) per gallons per month, a charge of $3.21 per 1,000 gallons.

(4) Next one hundred seventy-five thousand (175,000) gallons per month, a charge of $3.74 per 1,000 gallons.

(5) Next two hundred fifty thousand (250,000) gallons per months, a charge of $4.11 per 1,000 gallons.

(6) Next two hundred fifty thousand (250,000) gallons per month, a charge of $4.95 per 1,000 gallons.

(7) For all over sever hundred fifty thousand (750,000) gallons per month, a charge of $6.24 per 1,000 gallons.

15-703. Special rates.

Purchasers of water in bulk at the water dock located at the city power plant will be sold at such rates as the city council may from time to time determine.

15-704. Bills.

The foregoing charges shall be payable upon bills rendered each month by the city clerk in accordance with the rules and regulations therefore as provided by ordinance.

The city reserves the right to discontinue water services for nonpayment of charges therefore when due or for the violation of the regulations pertaining to the furnishing of water to users.
