CHAPTER XV. UTILITIESCHAPTER XV. UTILITIES\ARTICLE 3. WATER SERVICE INSTALLATIONS

Any person, firm, or corporation desiring a new water service installation, shall make application therefor to the City Office in such form as may be required.  The installation shall be made under the direction of City staff as soon thereafter as practical.

The City of Oakley will bring water from the City main lines to within the curb line adjacent to the property line of the user and furnish all labor and materials for a standard water service installation, including pipe, valves, fittings, water meter and the necessary connections and appurtenances for the process to be paid as follows:

(a)   For installation for pipe one inch (1”) diameter or smaller - the cost of material, labor, equipment use, and street repair, if any.

(b)   For pipe in excess of one inch (1”) diameter, the cost of material, labor, equipment use, and street repair, if any, for such installation, plus a sum equal to ten percent thereof.

(c)   All installations outside of the City limits will require approval of the Governing Body of the City of Oakley and a fee at a rate of 150 percent of the charges made within the City limits will be charged.

The same to be paid at the time of application for such installation.  All materials used shall remain the property of the City and the City shall keep the same in repair or replace the same when necessary.

The City of Oakley reserves the right to require the installation of water service connections of a greater capacity where the same shall be necessary to serve properly and efficiently any institutional, commercial or multiple occupancy building.
