A CHARTER ORDINANCE EXEMPTING THE CITY OF OAKLEY, KANSAS.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF OAKLEY, KANSAS:

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Oakley, Kansas, has determined that the provisions of K.S.A. 12-16, 128, should not apply to appointments by the Mayor of the City of Oakley; and

WHEREAS, the exemption of the City of Oakley from the operation of K.S.A. 12-16,128 is an appropriate exercise of the power of the City Council of the City of Oakley, Kansas.

SECTION 1. The City of Oakley, Kansas, by the power virtue vested in it by Article 12, Section 5 of the Constitution of the State of Kansas, hereby elects to and hereby does exempt itself and make inapplicable K.S.A. 2008 Supp. 12-16,128, which applies to this City, but does not apply uniformly to all cities.
